Pennyz is without a doubt one of the best horses in eventing and has gained a vast fan club over the years! She first jumped into the limelight at the 2012 London Olympics, where despite being one of the youngest horses she finished 11th on a treble clear and was named horse of the games by French magazine "Grand Prix".
She's a second generation home bred mare to her owner Sally Bullen, for whom she has won several highly regarded breeding awards. Vittoria first started working with Pennyz as a 6yo when she completed her first pre novice and then only three years later competed at the London Olympic Games.
This was achieved thanks to her determined character and exceptional jump, meaning she produces plenty of impressive results along the way.
Pennyz first stood out in 2010 when she won the British 7yo Championships and then went on to gain 9th place at Le Lion D'Angers World 7yo Championships. In 2012 she was 7th at the London Olympic Test Event and second at the prestigious British Intermediate championships at Gatcombe Park. She then progressed up to three star and gained top placings resulting in Olympic qualification. Following on from her successful 2012 season Pennyz had a great start to 2013, including a fantastic CCI4*-S win at Belton, which was great preparation for her CCI5* debut at Badminton. Again, she really impressed at Badminton with an outstanding double clear, finishing on her dressage score for 7th place. This meant that she won the 'Best Mare' award, which has enabled Sally Bullen to continue the line by breeding Borough Justapenny via embryo transfer. She rounded off 2013 with a fabulous double clear at the European championships in Malmo gaining 7th place.
Her 2014 full of hope was scuppered by injuries the day before Badminton and again before warming up before the dressage at the World Games. However, she came back on top form in 2015 with wins at Wellington CCI4*-S and Ravenna CCI4*-L helping towards her gaining a qualification slot for Italy for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Pennyz had a brilliant 2017 season with some fantastic results! She was very competitive in the Event Rider Masters series, picking up 10th place at Chatsworth and 8th place at Gatcombe with one of very few double clear rounds!
2018 was another very successful season for Pennyz with extremely impressive results at Arville and Blair Castle in the Event Rider Masters series. She once again demonstrated her exceptional jumping skills and her speediness across country to finish with top placings!
Her exceptional jumping technique and flair make her incredible to watch and a horse of a lifetime to ride!
